Notice to Current Students and New Summer Term Students:
Current Students: TCAT-Harriman will continue on-line learning through April 30th (the new end date for Spring Term). Students who were scheduled to graduate in April are still on target for graduation in accordance with the program instructors. Third Term Nursing students will work with the Coordinator of Health Sciences to finish clinical hours for graduation (simulation labs are being scheduled).
As of now, all programs are scheduled to begin the Summer Term on May 4th, following the original 2020 calendar. Also, as of now, classes will begin back on campuses on May 4th for the Summer Term. All returning students need to log into their S# account and register for their classes for the Summer Term. Also, all returning students need to update their FAFSA and complete the new 2020-2021 application. Suzanne Ziegler (sziegler@tcatharriman.edu) can assist with registration and Jennifer Bible (jbible@tcatharriman.edu) can assist with financial aid.
New Students scheduled to begin classes Summer 2020: New student enrollment has been postponed until June 1st for all programs except for the Evening Practical Nursing Program at the Loudon County Instructional Service Center. As of now, a tentative registration date of May 19th has been set for all new Summer Term students except for Evening Practical Nursing Program at the Loudon County Instructional Service Center. All students attending programs at the main campus will set for a mandatory orientation at 9:00 a.m., May 19th on the main campus. All students attending the Evening Welding Technology and Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Programs at the Loudon County Instructional Service Center will set for a mandatory orientation at 4:00 p.m., May 19th at the Loudon County Instructional Service Center. Once summer acceptance has been confirmed those students can log into their S# account and register for their classes for the Summer Term. Also, Summer Term students need to update their FAFSA and complete the new 2020-2021 application. Evening Practical Nursing Students scheduled to begin classes on May 4th at the Loudon County Instructional Service Center: As of now classes are to begin as scheduled on the evening of May 4th at the Loudon County Instructional Service Center. All students should have been contacted by this point. Any student who has not been in contact with campus administration about acceptance, needs to email the Coordinator of Health Sciences Jessica Massengill (jmassengill@tcatharriman.edu) immediately for assistance. The nursing department is working with these students currently capturing personal emails in order to build a student communication platform through “Edmodo.” Important updates and needed forms to complete the registration process will be posted using this platform. Orientation will be held the first night of class at 4:00 p.m. at the Loudon County Instructional Service Center. Evening Nursing Students can log into their S# account and register for their classes for the Summer Term. Also, since this is a Summer Term start date, students need to update their FAFSA and complete the new 2020-2021 application. TCAT-Harriman administration wishes all student a safe return to the campuses on May 4th. We want to take this opportunity again to apologize for any disruption the online learning environment has caused you during your enrollment. We understand that you have chosen a technical college because of your desire to learn hands-on through live-work environments. We too pride ourselves on our hands-on learning labs and look forward to returning to those labs in May.
